Specialist Status

In September 2005 the School was proud to have been granted specialist status. The two subjects of our specialism are Sport and ICT.

We are committed, in partnership with other local Schools and the town of Fleetwood, to developing Sport and ICT in ways which will inspire and challenge. We are confident that we are becoming a centre of excellence for both subjects. Most importantly, Specialist School status will enable us to raise standards across all subjects, recently reflected in our improved GCSE results. Students will be offered opportunities to develop their talents beyond the taught curriculum and our emphasis upon developing a healthy lifestyle will help our students to make choices and develop habits which will ensure their future well being. Skills and interests developed whilst at Fleetwood High School will, we believe, last a lifetime.

Our facilities – already superior to many well established specialist Schools – include a purpose built dance studio, a newly refurbished fitness suite, one of the most sophisticated ICT networks in the County, together with an emerging learning platform enabling remote access for parents, students and staff.
